Ownership and Accountability

Ownership

  • If you need to work on 5 features/change requests in a release
    • You need to know all the things around it
    • Participate in the review
    • Deliver on time
    • Raise the risks around it
    • Know the domain knowledge before testing

Accountable
  • Feel more accountable
  • When customer sees that you are working on your own and trying to understand holistically, ask the right questions and track your deliverable, they are more comfortable with you.
  • Go and talk to teams for understanding your gaps.
  • Figure out yourself by digging through the code - whether you are a developer/tester
    • This brings out more confidence in you
  • Don't just be in a listen mode
  • There are no boundaries to your work
  • Ask more questions, understand better, chase for resolution
  • Do things on your own
  • Push for making things better
  • Speak more often in calls
  • We are demonstrating accountability, when we speak more often in calls, ask questions, go deeper into the problem at hand
  • Communication is very importable

Responsibility
  • Put your brains and know end to end, don't limit yourself to a task level
  • Be adaptive to circumstances
